A200 MPFC

HaasCorp's first entry into the starfighter field, the A200 is a large, robust craft, capable of dishing out as well as taking large amounts of punishment. The core design concept is to have interchangeable weapons set-ups based around an advanced fire control system. Each weapons package is aimed toward a specific combat role (such as space superiority, ground support, heavy bomber etc).

The two-man crew consists of a pilot and a weapons officer. Nominally the pilot's job is simply to fly the craft as directed by his weapons officer. He usually has no direct access to weapons control, just those systems required for flight (navigational controls), the rest of the systems are controlled by the weapons officer (sensors, shields, weapons). Both have full communications access. Shields, sensors and nose-mounted weapons can be assigned to the pilot in an emergency (injury/illness to the weapons officer) or for transit operations.

Fast, manoeuvrable and robust, the A200 enjoys a high reputation amongst its flight crew. The speed and strength of the craft have been instrumental in bringing crews home alive when colleagues in lesser machines have not been so lucky.

Ground crews are less enthusiastic. The A200 does require a high degree of maintenance to keep it in the field (1 week's downtime per month). It is also not the enthusiastic amateur's dream. Upgrading components is difficult due to the multilayer component design that is, in part, a factor in its toughness. Upgrades can be made, but should always be considered to be one difficulty rating higher than usual, plus, due to a specialised integrated fire control system, a second Computer Programming/Repair roll is required, rated at Very Difficult. To compensate, HaasCorp does offer potential buyers two alternatives: they can send staff on a HaasCorp A200 Engineering Course (6 weeks, minimum requirement Starfighter Repair 3D+2, Computer Programming/Repair 3D) or they can purchase HaasCorp engineering support on a contract basis.

The high cost of the craft has meant that only large corporations and planetary governments have shown much of an interest in the A200. The Rebel Alliance has viewed demonstrations of the craft's capabilities, but simply doesn't have the cash available at this time to purchase any. The Imperial Navy is committed to the TIE programme both contractually and philosophically.

The A200 is a delta wing craft, with in line canopies for the pilot and weapons officer. Each has access to personal cargo storage from their respective cockpit positions, although there is external access for loading.

All weapon swap outs requires a ground crew of three engineers and around 2 hours working time.

The HaasCorp design team is currently rumoured to be working on a variety of other modules, such as an ECM module, a Communication (Command & Control) module and a mine-laying module. These will be able to replace one or both of the wing modules of any variant. No release date has been finalised for these upgrades.

Notes: *Due to its durability the A200 may ignore first lightly damaged result, all other damage rolls as normal.
